If you lose your Lexus key or wish to have second key made, you cannot get one at your hardware store. Your key is a Lexus chip key. Your car will detect if the key you use contains a programmed chip, and if it is not there, the car will not start. This, in addition to your Lexus remote which is programmed specifically for your Lexus keyless entry system, helps prevent auto theft.

If you go to the Lexus Dealer because of a lost keys situation, they will have to replace the computer in your car. Replacing the computer in your vehicle can cost up to $2500.00 for the parts, labor, programming and new keys.

This is what WE do...
1. Reflash cars computer (ECM, ECU, or ICU) so it will accept new keys.
2. Cut 2 new non-remote keys. (remote head keys available at additional cost).
3. We can provide this complete service on site, which includes coming to your location, removing and reflashing the ECM, ECU or ICU, cutting and programming the new keys into your vehicle.

What is a Chip Key?

Transponders are hidden inside the molded top of the key. In simplest terms it's a radio transmitter/receiver device that is programmed into the computer of the car. If the corresponding key to the computer is not used on the car, the car will not start. Losing Toyota transponder keys is a major problem if no spare keys are available. Some cars require the actual Engine Computer Module to be replaced, making it an extremely expensive adventure. A Toyota spare key could save you thousands.
